Book Review: William Golding - Lord of the Flies (published in 1954)

William Golding - Lord of the Flies

Updated review in 2020:

I don't remember what rating I gave this book when I read it in 2006. I just remember a few fragments from the story. One is the pig's head, the other is the fact that children are left alone on an island and turn savage.

It's not a lot, but it's actually the full extent of this rather short novel.

The intricacies of the story, and the meaning behind what is told was lost me on me back then I think. I doubt I rated it five stars fourteen years ago, but here we are.

I really enjoyed this book this time around. It's a classic and rightly so.

5 stars
