Book Review: Esther Verhoef - Façade (published in 2018)

It's very difficult for me to enjoy Dutch books. I usually don't like the writing, and I can't look past the way the author decides to phrase themselves.

I thought it would be the same case for Facade. However, halfway through the book I became heavily invested. There are a few too many twist-and-turns, but who am I to complain?

When a Dutch book manages to enthrall me, it's easy to convince me to give it a high rating.

The book is about Iris, a recently divorced mother, who decides to make a solo road trip to her mother in Portugal. On the way she meets an interesting stranger and she finds out she's in way over her head.

It's a fun read, it's thrilling, it's definitely worth it!
